The “Hıdırellez ve Nevruz Şöleni” was celebrated with great enthusiasm at BARÜ. Organized collaboratively by the Department of Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures, the Turkish World Studies Club, the International Students Club, and the Archery Club, the event began with a moment of silence and the recitation of the Turkish National Anthem.

Held at the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Education, the program featured national dance performances from Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, and Indonesia. Poems were recited and songs were performed in Turkey Turkish, Uzbek Turkish, Kazakh Turkish, Turkmen Turkish, Ahiska Turkish, Azerbaijani Turkish, and Afghan.

At the end of the program, Akdeniz ERBAŞ, a graduate student of the Department of Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures at Bartın University, took the stage. Accompanied by traditional Turkic instruments such as the jaw harp (ağız kopuzu) and dombra, ERBAŞ captivated the audience with the unique melodies of Turkistan. Following the indoor program, the celebrations continued at the lakeside festival area, where Uzbek pilaf was served, the Nevruz fire was lit, archery activities were held, and participants enjoyed singing and dancing.

Dr. Dursun ÜNÜVAR, Advisor of the Turkish World Studies Club and a faculty member of the department, stated that, as in previous years, they once again brought the spirit of Nevruz from the Turkic World to BARÜ and warmly welcomed the arrival of spring. He expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the organization of the event.
