As part of the course “Writing Systems Used by the Turks,” a technical field trip was organized to the replicas of the Orkhon Inscriptions located in Kaynarca Life Park in Bartın Province.
The trip was arranged in line with our department’s student-centered educational approach and on-site teaching practices, with the aim of enabling students to reinforce the theoretical knowledge they acquired in class through practical observation and experience. During the visit, the Orkhon Inscriptions—among the most significant sources in the history of Turkish writing—were examined. Discussions focused on the characteristics of the Göktürk alphabet, the importance of the inscriptions in terms of linguistic and cultural history, and the written heritage of Turkish civilization.
The event, carried out with the active participation of our students, contributed to supporting learning processes through extracurricular applications while also fostering awareness of historical and cultural heritage.
